This term often suggests formal meetings and planning sessions. In fact, facilitation frequently happens moment-to-moment in any setting as people work together to achieve results. The skill includes drawing out ideas, opening thinking to discover options, asking questions that turn on the lights, creating a safe space for voicing opinions and supporting movement to higher level thinking as a way to see issues systemically and holistically. It may involve two people or many.
